A description of Greenland Eskimo Crania with 'an introduction on the geography and history of Greenland.' Initiated in 1905, when Fur st, then Professor of Anatomy at the University of Lund, was invited to study crania brought back from Amdrup's expedition to Greenland. High quality photographic reproductions of cranial bones and m a ndibles by Otto Mattsson of the Lund Anatomical Institute. The study was intended for anthropologists, and the maps, photographs, text and bibliography provide context for a thesis about the possib l e intermixture between earlier northern colonists and Eskimos. 234 pages; fold-out map 65cms. x 75cms. Otherwise 52 photographs of crania and mandibles, 4 maps, 6 views, tables of measurements and, in t he text, 40 portraits, maps, figures, 19 diagrams, 74 graphs and 133 tabl;es of measurements.
